Monero is a privacy-oriented cryptocurrency. As part of our plan to support multiple currencies, which will likely be handled by some third party, the only cryptocurrency we'll likely support is Monero, considering its privacy attributes.

Privacy is important to WeWrite because we might be potentially used by dissidents and journalists. Even Bitcoin is an insufficient solution for these people, as we saw with the Canadian Trucker's Protests and how the Canadian government blacklisted Bitcoin addresses from exchanges, since it's a surveillance coin. (that is, a fully transparent blockchain)
